WP Stage 2 — Wayside Performance Custom ECU Calibration

Stage 2 is where we start opening up the Astra J VXR's intake and exhaust to remove the restrictions that limit what the A20NFT can do at higher boost levels.

 

The standard airbox and factory exhaust system are adequate at stock power, but once you're pushing beyond Stage 1 territory they become the bottleneck — and addressing them unlocks a meaningful step forward in both power and torque.

 

Our Stage 2 calibration is developed specifically around the improved airflow delivered by the supporting hardware.

 

This isn't a Stage 1 map with the numbers turned up — it's a completely custom rolling road calibration built around your car's specific setup, taking full advantage of the freer intake and exhaust to safely push the stock turbo further.

 

Expect 320-335hp and 380-415ft/lb of torque, with a broader power band and stronger in-gear punch than Stage 1 can deliver.

For the exhaust side, there are two effective routes and we're happy to supply and fit either:

The recommended option is a Cobra Sport 3" primary sports cat downpipe paired with a secondary decat pipe.

 

This removes the most restrictive part of the exhaust system while retaining a catalytic converter in the primary position — passing MOT emissions testing while delivering the vast majority of the flow improvement you'd get from a full decat setup.

 

For those who want the complete upgrade in one go, a Cobra Sport 3" turbo-back exhaust replaces everything from the turbo outlet to the rear of the car. It includes a sports cat so it remains road-legal and MOT compliant, delivers a more aggressive exhaust note, and gives you the benefit of a full 3" system throughout.

 

On the intake side, the Airtec induction kit replaces the restrictive factory airbox with a large cone filter and heat shield, giving the turbo a much freer path to draw air and keeping intake temperatures in check at higher boost levels.

Every WP Stage 2 installation is carried out at our workshop by our experienced technicians and includes a before and after dyno run with a printed power graph.

 

Required hardware:

  • Airtec induction kit
  • Cobra Sport 3" primary sports cat downpipe + secondary decat pipe (recommended road-legal option)
  • OR Cobra Sport 3" turbo-back exhaust system (full upgrade option)

 

Advised hardware:

  • Uprated spark plugs (if not already fitted)
  • Forge Motorsport recirculation valve (if not already fitted)

 

Please note this product is workshop install only including before and after dyno printout.
