The 2.0 Ecoboost is a Direct Injection engine, meaning that the fuel injectors spray directly into the combustion chamber. Direct injectors have a much shorter window of time during the combustion cycle to inject this fuel, therefore run at a much higher pressure compared to port injectors in order to inject enough fuel and atomise the fuel more efficiently.
Now while this brings many benefits to engine efficiency, due to the injectors now being inside the combustion chamber it does present an issue with carbon build up on the injectors. This can offset spray patterns or even cause not enough fuel to be delivered to 1 or multiple cylinders.
The 2.0 Ecoboost injectors also use a paper filter, you can see in the image that this has deteriorated causing dangerously poor flow.
This service is for a set of 4 Ecoboost injectors flow and leak testing with report + fitting of uprated mesh filter baskets & new graphite seals. You must send us your injectors after purchase and we aim to turn these around in 3 days + delivery time.
We also have brand new Ecoboost injectors already tested & fitted with uprated baskets available here
